In 2007 the client sought to improve their effluent discharge and limit their Nitrogen and solids released into the local stream. The plant treats all the waste from the airport and is typically high in ammonia. BECA had been instructed to redesign the plant to meet the consent objectives. The total plant upgrade also included the installation of a trickling filter as well as the MF plant. The trickling filter was not part of our scope.
